Naval architecture
At Vuicon we have a team of naval architects working closely with structural and mechanical engineers. This multi discipline team can face almost any structural or mechanical challenge.
Our naval engineers also deal with the hydrostatics and hydrodynamics. In our PIAS SARC software we can model your ship and issue the stability book. Applying rules and regulations of all major classification societies is our daily business. Furthermore we perform 3D scanning, FEM analysis, Load Lines certification, on board measuring and inspections, general arrangements, safety plans and many more.

Mechanical engineering
Our list of projects that we have carried out, is simply too long. You can benefit from the experience we gained from the offshore and dredging market and the huge number of various mechanical projects.
From system design, P&ID, pipe routing to complex dredging equipment and from offshore lifting tools to sea fastening brackets. Most of the mechanical engineering is carried out with Autodesk software AutoCAD and Inventor. Our engineers have a comprehensive knowledge of materials and applications. A practical way of thinking and useful experience make our designs smart and sustainable.

Structural engineering
Our engineers are experienced in designing steel structures for the use at sea and ashore. Our projects cover floating objects such as ships and pontoons, but also land-based objects such as buildings and storage tanks. With our knowledge we design the ‘bones’ and load bearing elements of your project. We analyse deformation, buckling, stress and fatigue and create the reliable basis for you to build on. We run finite element analysis software FEMAP and NX Nastran to calculate the strength and assess the structural integrity.

Inspections and consultancy
A visit on site or on board can save a lot precious time and avoid mistakes, therefore we carry out in-field inspection, measuring and arrange 3-D scanning. Most of our engineers are SHE certified.
We like to share our knowledge. We can advise on technical challenges and set up or review project requirements. Some of our engineers are hired by educational institutes to teach students the basics of design and CAD software. We also organize in house CAD training of employees at our clients premises.

Manufacturing
As a member of the ‘Koninklijke Metaalunie’ we are your one stop shop for engineering and manufacturing. We manufacture structures and equipment in our production facility. The maximum lifting capacity is 10 tonnes. We are able to machine metal and have modern MIG/MAG welding machines. Examples of previous projects are all kinds of foundations, A-frames, platforms & stairs, seafastening brackets, WID nozzles , lifting tools, mooring rope reels, 20/40ft container modifications and more. Our workshop has a valuable interaction with our engineering department. Optimization of designs is an ongoing process.
